Birthday Party FAQs

We removed toys that could not be soaked daily to disinfect (dolls, puppets, dress-up) or that had many small pieces to clean (lego duplos) and replaced with gross motor toys like our new Pikler triangle. We hope to bring these pretend play and building toys back to our space when it's safe to do so!

Our art room was transformed into a retail store, filled with educational toys, games & books to promote purposeful play at home

Click below to learn what to expect during your visit (like handwashing upon arrival!), the changes we made while we were closed, our cleaning & disinfecting policy, staff procedures, and FAQs on Massachusetts mask requirements.

does my toddler have to wear a mask?

As of 2/12/22 Room to Bloom is no longer requiring masks for children (of any age).

Adults (regardless of vaccination status) are still required to wear a mask.

Anyone with a medical issue that cannot safely wear a mask will NOT be required to wear a mask. You will not be required to show proof of medical condition (this follows state guidelines), but please inform our staff if it applies to someone in your family so they are aware. Per the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, exceptions for wearing face masks include situations that may inhibit an individual from wearing a face-mask safely. These may include, but are not limited to: Those who cannot breathe safely; Those who, due to a behavioral health diagnosis, are unable to do so; Those communicating with people who rely on lip-reading;Those who require supplemental oxygen to breathe.

why is there a price difference between private play & a birthday party?

Birthday parties include 30 minutes prior and 30 minutes after the party to set up and take down decorations (with the assistance of our staff member), as well as a full 2 hours of party time. Birthday parties also include our staff setting up our two balloon centerpieces for your use - pick 2-3 ballon colors to match your theme. It's a great way to make the cafe look extra special!

Private plays to celebrate birthdays are a great option if you don't plan to decorate and don't need any additional "buffer" time before/after the party.
