Discover Countless Ways To Play
-
LIGHT TO DARK - Help kids identify all the items in the coffee set and talk about how each is used. Have kids line up the coffee pods in order from lightest to darkest.
-
FLAVOR-FULL - Describe the different coffee flavors (vanilla, hazelnut, and mocha). Use familiar words. For example: "Vanilla is sweet; mocha is chocolaty..." If you have any of these flavors in your kitchen (such as vanilla extract), encourage kids to smell them!
-
HOW MUCH? - Look at the Coffee Order cards with kids and talk about the concepts of small, medium, and large. Point to where small, medium, and large portions would be on one of the wooden cups.
-
COOL CAFÉ - Encourage kids to imagine owning a coffee shop! What would its name be? What would it look like? What kind of music would kids play for customers? Would customers sit on stools, couches, or chairs? What else would kids serve besides coffee? Have them create menus and signs for their coffee shop!
About Melissa & Doug
Our mission is to provide a launch pad to ignite imagination and a sense of wonder in all children so they can discover themselves, their passions, and their purpose.
There was a time not so long ago when childhood offered the space and freedom for children to explore their world. To be curious. To be creative. To be bold. To be bored. To just . . . be. Today, our overstimulated and overscheduled children are using their imaginations less than ever. It’s a crisis in the making. And it’s why we’re committed to making products that inspire creative thinking and encourage kids to see new possibilities. It’s also why the American Academy of Pediatrics chose to join forces with us to champion the health benefits of open-ended play.
We make toys and other products that offer Countless Ways To Play. We believe the best playthings are often simple concepts that inspire children to come up with their own twists. With everything we create, we hope to encourage:
- Free Play
- Creativity
- Imagination
- Learning
- Discovery
